Gunsgreen House has a new opportunity for Volunteer Guides

gunsgreen house Gunsgreen House in Eyemouth need Volunteer Guides. Volunteer Guiding at Gunsgreen is an  opportunity to engage with the general public and share with them the history of Gunsgreen House and  its many occupants over the years. It can be a very rewarding experience. Gunsgreen's visitors are from all age groups and all backgrounds. Gunsgreen also take group tours. The house does not have a "typical" visitor but it is very popular with families with young children. There are specific activities aimed at children with parents or grandparents and these continue to provide enjoyment to all our visitors.

The role of volunteer guide entails helping people to get the most out of their visit to the house. The Visitor Attraction cover 5 floors although the Cellars (Visitor Attraction entrance level) and basement are self-guided, guides are normally position on the main floor with the occasional visit to the top two floors. The top two floors are used as self-catering accommodation and are only accessible when they are vacant.

Guides normally cover a 3 hour slot, 11:00am to 2:00pm or 2:00pm to 5:00pm we are open 7 days a week.
A new guide would usually work alongside and experienced guide until they become confident to take on a guiding slot of their own.
