Become a Volunteer Meal Maker in your local community

Meal Makers2Meal Makers brings together those who love to cook and share food, with a local older neighbour who would really appreciate receiving a freshly prepared meal and a friendly chat.

Meal Makers is a community food-sharing project. Volunteers cook an extra portion of their meal to share with an older neighbour who would appreciate some home-cooking.

Meals can be shared once a week, once a fortnight or every now and then, at times to suit. It is designed to be a flexible volunteering opportunity based on an everyday activity. Cooks can select a diner that lives at a convenient distance and with similar taste in food via the Meal Makers website.

Once paired with a nearby diner, cooks then arrange meals directly. They are asked to log meals on the website after they have been shared, and cooks can contact Meal Makers staff at any time with questions or problems.
