Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland require Volunteer Drivers for their Hawick and Galashiels Charity Shops.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people in Scotland affected by chest, heart and stroke illness, through medical research, influencing public policy, advice and information and support in the community.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland currently has 32 charity shops around Scotland. The shops help us to raise the funds needed to provide our services in the local communities.

Each of our stores relies on a team of volunteers to help support our paid staff.

You could make a difference to Scotland’s health by helping out in one of our stores to raise funds needed to deliver services.

Volunteer Role

Your level of involvement is arranged to suit as we require weekly drivers, regular rota drivers and relief drivers who may be called upon to cover any unavailability of our regular team. You should have use of your own car and hold a full driving licence for a minimum of 3 years. Potential volunteers must have a competent level of the English language.

The role includes:

  • collecting donated stock
  • delivering stock to the charity shop

Training will be carried out under the guidance of the Shop Manager. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland will provide all necessary training. All volunteers are supported by their line manager.
