"Read all about it!"

Media training picIndividuals from organisations around the Borders attended a Media Training Day run by Volunteer Centre Borders (VCB) at the end of November.
VCBs' Volunteering Development Officer, and trained journalist, Fiona Scott led the session which covered topics such as the changing face of local press and using digital media to the best effect.
Fiona is a former Sports Editor with the Southern Reporter and has 20 years' experience of working in the media and as a PR consultant.
She is passionate about helping organisations in the Third Sector use the media in the best way possible.
"One of the best ways of inspiring new volunteers to join your organisation is to share the stories of existing volunteers and the great work they do," she said.
"We have had some great feedback from those who attended and VCB look forward to hosting similar events in the future.
As well as providing tips on how to present articles and photographs for publication the session was a great networking exercise for all involved a very insightful discussion was had around social media privacy.
