Farewell to Brian Hitchcock!

brian hThe end of September saw the end of an era at Volunteer Centre Borders with the retirement of Brian Hitchcock who was an Office Administrator here for over 12 years.

Brian joined the team in June 2007 and immediately became an integral part of the organisation. His contribution to the smooth running of the office will always be valued and remembered, as will his hard work, commitment and dedication to the role.

Brian's organisational skills and attention to detail were legendary and I'm sure we'll still be finding remnants of this for years to come – proof-read documents with corrected spelling and grammar, files containing epic battles with Royal Bank of Scotland's Customer 'Service', 'best price' haggling, immaculately written meeting minutes and beautifully recorded answer machine messages.

Brian will be greatly missed, not just by all of us at VCB but by the many other organisations and individuals with whom he worked over the years.

We all wish him a very HAPPY RETIREMENT!
