Crowdfunding Coaching Project in the Scottish Borders!

The Crowdfunding Coaching project is a Scottish Borders LEADER funded project.

Simon Lynch MCIPS, LEADER Programme Facilitator, Economic Development, Scottish Borders Council tells us..

crowdfunder"It's a different way of raising funds for a project or activity, whereby you use the 'crowd' to support and buy 'rewards' to raise the funds to make your project happen. The coaching project is run by Crowdfunder UK and Emmi Koivisto is the coach for the Scottish Borders area. I know quite a few of our LEADER applicants and others have met Emmi by now and a number have successfully completed crowdfunding projects.

Projects within the Scottish Borders are eligible for free Crowdfunder coaching and Emmi would love to hear from anyone who is looking for more information or support in building their page. For businesses Crowdfunder can mean offering rewards to be fulfilled when things re-open, for community groups it can be for equipment or supplies to provide a community response and supporting their volunteers. Emmi has outlined a few examples below of different types of groups below who have used Crowdfunder in response to COVID 19.

We also have a lot of examples of all kinds of other Crowdfunding projects in the Scotland too, which can be found on www.crowdfunder.co.uk/crowdfund-scotland

Fierce Beer - raised over £155k in 1 day! All their pubs shut down so they focused on online beer sales to maintain cash flow.
Hug & a Pint & Sneaky Petes fundraised to support staff and costs and their customers came out in force to support.

Lots of community projects are raising funds to support volunteers and provide a community response - Dunkeld & Birnam & Mull
We also still have standard projects like Watt Whisky Crowdfunding, so even if your project isn't in relation to Covid 19, we can still support you and help you.

If this has piqued your interest, and even if you aren't ready to chat but want to find out more about Crowdfunding we have a free online session running on 20th May at 12pm.
