VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: TREASURER

Borders YT topBorders Youth Theatre is seeking a new treasurer to take over from November 2020. They would like a person with a financial background. An understanding of how small charities operate, with budget restrictions and reporting to OSCR, would be helpful but not essential.

Borders Youth Theatre is a volunteer led charity that has been running youth drama projects for over 30 years. They are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation or SCIO. During the coronavirus lockdown their activities have been online and They're looking forward to re-starting weekly drama workshops across the region and planning productions for 2021.

The programme is run by trustees, volunteers and a part-time coordinator. The activities are delivered by a team of experienced, self-employed, drama professionals. Borders Youth Theatre activities are open to all and kept affordable with fundraising activities and grants. In addition they operate a bursary scheme with up to 20% of the participants in their projects having received help with part or all of their fees.
