Youth Peer Mentors in Recovery (YPMiR) Programme

youth wellbeingYWC CIC are excited to be continuing to work in partnership with Serendipity recovery community network on the Youth Peer Mentors in Recovery (YPMiR) programme.

This will be a rolling programme of 6 week blocks of structured online workshops designed to provide young people (16-25) who are in recovery (mental health and/or addiction) with the opportunity to create a safe and supportive space for themselves and their peers to meet for peer support. The rolling programme element will allow young people who want to take part to fit the sessions around their other commitments. This programme is open to young people who live, work or study in the Scottish Borders.

They will be using the IROC Wellbeing which is an outcomes based and validated measure of personal recovery to evidence the impact of the programme.

This opportunity has been made possible because of the amazing people from The Corra Foundation and their panel of people with lived experience; who believe that there is a power in sharing stories and connecting with people through peer support. It is hoped to create peer support networks with guidance from young people across the Scottish Borders so that everyone is within travelling distance of a support group. The peers will then go on to receive further training, supervision and support from Serendipity.

**The next block starts on the 5th march; get in touch for more info or to make a referral**
