BorderCarersCentre logo 2The Borders Carers Centre have been allocated some additional funding from the Scottish Government to support unpaid carers to take time out from their caring role during the current lockdown.

Depending on need and individual circumstances the maximum grant awarded will be £500.

Funding is limited and cannot be guaranteed. It is advisable to submit your application asap.

The fund will close on 24th March, or earlier dependent on allocation of funds.

The grant is open to all unpaid carers living in the Scottish Borders including young carers and parent carers. Carers do not need to be registered with the Carers Centre to apply. The fund is for those carers desperately in need of a break and priority will be given to those carers who have not had a grant in the last 6 months from the Time to Live Fund.

The fund cannot be used to book future holidays/breaks.

Get Creative!

Creative ideas for taking a break could be:

  • Garden equipment
  • Book, magazine or Netflix subscription
  • Arts and crafts
  • Online courses
  • Meditation and relaxation materials
  • Takeaways
  • Tutoring or extra support for home schooling
  • Special play equipment
