Gala Men's Shed

Galashiels's Men's Shed have found a new home to sell their produce.

Last month, a plea was put out for a place in town to sell the items which were being produced by members of Gala's Men's Shed. Jenny Potter, who has just opened Whynot? On Channel Street promptly volunteered some space and invited local Councillors along to the opening of the shop to see the shed items for sale. Click here for more on this story...

Lifesaver for Gala Men's Shed

Gala Men's shed, a communal workshop in the Borders, were thrown a lifeline when Hart Builders got involved in helping them repair their community shed. Ross Hall, the Men's Shed Development Officer said that 'the donation of the wood and nails to repair the building has been a lifesaver for us at Gala Men's shed, as it was just going to be too expensive to be able to repair ourselves. The wood underneath the building was completely rotten and it all had to come off and get replaced.' The repairs to the building should mean the shed can now continue with peace of mind for another five/six years.
